Dyslexia isn’t as uncommon as we may think. It affects 20 per cent of the world’s population which translates to one in ten people and represents 80-90 per cent of people with learning disabilities. Dyslexia is a neuro-cognitive disorder. It is a learning impairment that causes problems with writing, reading, and spelling. People affected with dyslexia may also have trouble understanding what they read.
As dyslexia is a fairly common occurrence, it is highly important to stay informed and aware of this condition in people and offer understanding, empathy and support to them.
